Tinubu Reconstitutes NERC Board, Appoints New Chairman and Commissioners
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), appointing a new chairman, vice chairman and commissioners to strengthen the regulatory oversight of Nigeria’s power sector.

According to the approval, Dr Mulisiu Olalekan Oseni has been appointed Chairman of the Commission, while Dr Yusuf Ali will serve as Vice Chairman. Both appointments are scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2025.
Other members appointed to the board are Nathan Rogers Shatti, Dafe Akpeneye, Aisha Mahmud Kanti Bello and Dr Chidi Ike, all as commissioners.
In addition, President Tinubu approved the appointment of Dr Fouad Animashaun as a new commissioner, with his tenure also set to commence in December 2025.
