FCTA Moves to Charge Generator Noise Fees in Abuja
Small business owners in Abuja have expressed anger and disbelief after a notification from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) was pasted in front of a business premises at a plaza in Zone 11, Abuja, informing operators that generator noise pollution fees will be charged going forward.

The notice targets businesses that rely on power-generating sets to operate in the absence of a regular public electricity supply.
For many small enterprises in the area, generators remain the only reliable source of power due to persistent outages and the high cost or unavailability of alternative energy options.
