The Catholic Diocese of Umuahia donated two electric street sweepers and scraper vehicles to the state government to strengthen Abia State’s environmental sanitation efforts.

While handing over the vehicles, the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia, Most Rev. Michael Kalu Ukpong, praised the state government for its commitment to promoting a clean and healthy environment.
He noted that the gesture underscores the Church’s support for public policies that enhance the well-being of the people, emphasising that environmental cleanliness is vital to healthy living.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), the Deputy General Manager, Catechist Ambrose Johah, expressed appreciation to the Diocese.
He assured that the vehicles would be effectively deployed to improve sanitation and environmental management across the state.
