Just-In: Senator Austin Akobundu Kicks Off Free Medical Outreach in Abia
Senator Austin Akobundu, representing Abia Central Senatorial District, has kicked off the first phase of a Free Medical Outreach at Ndoro Village Hall, Ama Ndoro, in Ikwuano, with a large turnout of people on Wednesday.

The outreach, which had been widely publicised ahead of its launch, attracted a significant crowd of beneficiaries who came to receive medical attention from a team of healthcare professionals engaged from the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Enugu.
The medical team provided a range of services, attending to the various health needs of the residents.
The first phase of the initiative is scheduled to cover three local government areas. Following the kickoff in Ikwuano, the outreach will move to Umuahia North on Thursday, March 19, at Isieke Ibeku Civic Centre along Bende Road.

It will then proceed to Osisioma Ngwa on Friday, March 20, with activities scheduled for Osisioma Garden, located near the Osisioma Junction/Flyover.
Speaking on the initiative, Senator Akobundu emphasised that his commitment to his constituents goes beyond economic empowerment. He noted that promoting good health remains a key priority, stressing that “health is wealth” and is essential for overall community development.
The outreach programme is expected to continue with a second phase, which will extend services to Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South, and Umuahia South local government areas.
