Abia Govt Announces State Burial Service for Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai

The Abia State Government has announced plans for an official state burial service in honour of the late Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai, a revered cleric whose life and ministry left a lasting impact on both the state and the global Christian community.

According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, the solemn ceremony will take place on Thursday, 26th March 2026, at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Ogurube Layout, Umuahia. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

Describing the late cleric as a towering figure of faith and service, the government noted that the burial service will serve as a moment of collective reflection and tribute. It emphasised that Abia State and its people will gather to celebrate a life marked by spiritual leadership, moral guidance, and humanitarian contributions.

Rev. Dr Ukpai was widely regarded as a symbol of humility, unwavering faith, and excellence in ministry. His teachings and philanthropic efforts inspired generations and contributed significantly to societal development.

The state government extends an open invitation to religious leaders, government officials, stakeholders, and members of the public to attend the ceremony and honour the legacy of the late cleric, whose influence continues to resonate across communities.
