The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has responded to a widely circulated social media video involving an alleged survivor of domestic violence identified as @anniesglowlagos on TikTok, confirming that the case is now before the court.

In a statement released on Thursday, the agency said it swiftly made contact with the survivor after the video gained public attention and ensured the matter was formally reported to the appropriate authorities.
According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2026, and was reported at the FESTAC Police Station Tactical Squad. The case is currently being handled by the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the station.
The survivor alleged that she was physically assaulted by her estranged partner, sustaining severe injuries, including the loss of a finger. Authorities confirmed that the suspect has been apprehended and that investigations have been carried out.
The DSVA further disclosed that the case was charged to Court 6, MBA Ajegunle, on March 25, 2026. The accused has been remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre pending further proceedings.
Bail was granted for ₦200,000 with two sureties, while the next hearing has been scheduled for April 29, 2026.
The agency also noted that the survivor has been referred for psychosocial support to aid her recovery and overall well-being.
Reaffirming its stance, the Lagos State Government reiterated its zero tolerance for all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, urging members of the public to speak up and report such incidents.
