Mayor Lucky Igbokwe Declares Bid for House of Representatives Seat
A former Governorship aspirant and entrepreneur, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, has officially declared his intention to contest in the upcoming general elections for the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.

The declaration comes after what he described as extensive consultations with key stakeholders, party leaders, and members, which he said revealed strong support and encouragement for him to seek higher office.
In a formal statement announcing his ambition, Igbokwe stated that he was responding to the call of the people to serve in a greater capacity.
“I have listened to the voices of our people and answered the call to serve at a higher level. After due consultation with stakeholders and members of our great party, I will be contesting in the coming elections for the office of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.
At a time when our people deserve more responsive and results-driven representation, I am committed to amplifying our voices, attracting meaningful federal presence, and delivering tangible progress across our communities.”
Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, a widely respected philanthropist, accomplished entrepreneur, and influential grassroots mobilizer with a proven record of impact, emphasised that his candidacy is rooted in service, accountability, and measurable development.
He reaffirmed his commitment to driving job creation, supporting youth enterprise, strengthening local economies, improving federal infrastructure presence, and expanding access to quality education and healthcare across Ikwuano and Umuahia.
“Our constituency is rich in talent, resilience, and potential, what we need is strong, effective representation to unlock it. I am ready to work with our people to build a future that reflects our shared aspirations,” he added.
Mayor Igbokwe called on party faithful, stakeholders, and the good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia to rally behind this vision of responsive, people-centred leadership and inclusive growth.
“This is more than a campaign, it is a movement for progress, opportunity, and lasting development. Together, we will build a future that works for everyone. The journey to a stronger, more prosperous Ikwuano/Umuahia begins now.”
Mayor Igbokwe also expressed deep appreciation to supporters, leaders, and well-meaning Nigerians who continue to show confidence in his leadership and vision.
