FCCPC Seals Estate in Abuja Over Alleged Failure to Deliver Homes
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed Paradise Estate in Abuja following multiple complaints from homebuyers over the developer’s alleged failure to deliver promised properties.

According to the Commission, the action was taken after it received and reviewed petitions from affected consumers, some of whom claimed they had completed full payment for housing units but had yet to receive possession of their homes.
The FCCPC stated that its intervention underscores the principle that consumer protection extends beyond routine retail transactions to include major financial commitments such as housing, where Nigerians often invest their life savings based on developers’ assurances.
In a statement, the Commission emphasised that businesses must uphold their obligations and avoid making promises they cannot fulfil. It noted that where payments have been made, developers are expected to adhere to agreed timelines, provide clear explanations for any delays, and offer lawful remedies where contractual obligations are not met.

The agency further stressed that trust in the housing sector depends on transparency, accurate record-keeping, honest communication, and strict adherence to delivery commitments.
As part of its ongoing investigation, the FCCPC called on affected buyers to submit relevant documents, including proof of payment and correspondence with the developer, through its official complaints portal.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring accountability in the real estate sector.
