FCCPC Seals Abuja Supermarket Over Pricing Irregularities, Expired Goods
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed a supermarket located in Guzape, Abuja, following an enforcement operation prompted by consumer complaints about questionable pricing practices.

According to the Commission, the inspection uncovered multiple potential violations of consumer protection regulations.
These included discrepancies between shelf prices and checkout charges, the absence of price tags on some displayed goods, and the sale of expired products. Officials also cited improper storage conditions for perishable items.
In addition, the FCCPC reported the discovery of suspected counterfeit products, including rice, which were confiscated during the operation.

As a result of these findings, the supermarket has been shut down pending further investigation and regulatory action by the Commission.
The FCCPC emphasised that all businesses are required to uphold transparent pricing, ensure product safety, and treat consumers fairly.
It also reiterated its commitment to enforcing compliance across markets.
