Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central has announced the launch of a free 24-hour public internet hub in Okene, Kogi State, aimed at expanding digital access for residents and businesses in the area.

The senator, on Tuesday, disclosed that the newly established internet facility, located at Okene Club, provides high-speed internet connectivity to users within a one-kilometre radius.

In a statement celebrating the project, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the initiative as part of efforts to improve access to digital opportunities and support productivity in the community.

“Congratulations, Okene! Your FREE 24/7 Public Internet Hub is now live at Okene Club, delivering high-speed internet access to everyone within a 1-kilometre radius,” she stated.

She encouraged residents benefiting from the service to share their experiences while using the facility.

“While connected, don’t forget to say a shoutout from there,” she added.

The senator also commended the Dam Foundation for its contribution to the project, particularly in the areas of electrification and beautification of the environment.

“Dam Foundation did a good job with its electrification and aesthetics so your leisure or work time there will be worthwhile,” she said.
