Massive Crowd as Evansino Declares for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Reps Seat

Eziama Ntighauzor in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State was thrown into a wave of political excitement on Friday, May 15, 2026, as over 3,000 supporters, stakeholders, and community members gathered for the official declaration of interest by Obingwa-born businessman, evangelist, philanthropist, and founder of EVANSINO Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, to contest for the House of Representatives seat of Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency under the platform of the Labour Party.

The declaration, which took place at his country home in Eziama Ntighauzor, attracted a large crowd from across the three local government areas, turning the event into a major political gathering that reflected growing grassroots interest in his aspiration.

In his declaration address, Evansino presented his ambition as one rooted in lived experience and humanitarian service, emphasizing his journey through hardship, his passion for human development, and his commitment to community upliftment. He highlighted his foundation’s interventions in education, healthcare, and empowerment initiatives across various communities.

Through the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, he noted that scholarships had been provided for students, school fees paid for indigent families, surgeries sponsored, youths and women empowered, and medical outreaches, boreholes, and humanitarian relief projects carried out across communities.

He stated that his decision to enter the race was not driven by personal ambition, but by a desire to promote compassionate, accountable, and people-centered representation. He further stressed the need for leadership that prioritizes youth opportunities, women empowerment, care for the elderly, and inclusive community development across the constituency.

According to him, the vision is to build a constituency where leadership listens, no one is left behind, and service is placed above self.

Speaking at the event, the Labour Party Chairman for Obingwa Local Government Area, Hon. Tony Ngwakwe, described Evansino as a grassroots-oriented personality whose humanitarian activities have already impacted farmers, women, children, and youths across Obingwa.

He noted that Evansino’s identity as a philanthropist and pastor reflects a foundation of service, expressing optimism that his transition into politics would further enhance his capacity to serve the people if given the party’s ticket.

Also speaking, the Mayor of Obingwa Local Government Area, Hon. Maxwell Nwadike, described him as a young man who has consistently impacted lives within the community, adding that he would perform well if given the mandate to represent the constituency at the federal level.

In a brief interview, the Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, who arrived later due to other political engagements, described Evansino as a pleasant personality who has taken the right step by formally entering the political space. He noted that the declaration has already established his presence in the political landscape and wished him success in his political journey.

The event recorded a strong turnout of party stakeholders from Obingwa, Osisioma Ngwa, and Ugwunagbo, alongside prominent dignitaries including the Deputy Mayor of Obingwa, the Secretary to the Local Government, and several political support groups such as Abia Arise, Chioma Abia, and the New Abia Movement.

Community leaders, the Old Obioma Ngwa Concerned Stakeholders, and various youth organizations were also present, making the gathering a wide coalition of political, social, and community interests across the constituency.
