Humanitarian Founder, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah Visits Bereaved Family Over Killing of Nursing Student Wendy Achumba
The Founder of the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Miss Wendy Achumba following her tragic death in Imo State, in an incident that has continued to stir grief and public outrage.
Miss Wendy Achumba, a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, was reportedly killed in her apartment on Thursday shortly after completing her midwifery programme and while undergoing post-basic training. The circumstances surrounding her death have left colleagues, friends, and members of the public in deep shock, describing her as a young professional in training whose promising future was abruptly cut short.
The deceased, who hails from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, was born into the family of Elder Jerry Nmerengini Achumba. Her death has thrown the family and community into mourning, as sympathizers continue to visit and express solidarity.
During his visit to the bereaved family residence around the United Evangelical Church area in Ogbor Hill, Aba, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah expressed profound sorrow over the loss, describing it as heartbreaking and deeply disturbing, particularly given the late student’s dedication to her nursing career and aspiration to serve in the medical field.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed for strength and comfort as they navigate the painful period of grief, assuring them of his continued support and solidarity.
As part of his humanitarian intervention, Ambassador Josiah also pledged financial assistance to help the family cope with the immediate needs of mourning and burial arrangements, reaffirming his commitment to standing with families facing devastating losses.
The condolence visit drew together family members, sympathizers, and community members, all gathered in mourning over the tragic and untimely death of the young nursing student.
