Civil Society Group Challenges Obi Aguocha to Publish Evidence of Alleged 22,000 Jobs Saved
A Civil society Group, Cognitive Justice, has urged a member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, to publish the 22,000 jobs he claimed that he saved across Nigeria, adding that it will be in the good interest of Nigerians to see the names, pictures, description of the jobs and phone numbers of the Nigerian citizens he postulated saved.

In a press statement made available to journalists in Umuahia, the Abia State capital city, the group spokesman, Emeka Opara, stated:
“As a civil society organisation, our core responsibility is to seek clarity, justice, accountability and transparency from our elected or appointed leaders who are our servants.
“We have uncovered a story making rounds claiming that the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, saved the jobs of over 22,000 Nigerian citizens who possess University certificates from tertiary institutions in the Benin Republic working in the Nigerian civil service and related organisations.
“We are categorically stating that these misleading but unsubstantiated tissue of lies and false narratives have proven that Hon. Obi Aguocha relishes in stimulating public sentiment and sympathy for legislative survival and acceptance due to his visibly ineffective and unproductive representation as a lawmaker representing Ikwuano/ Umuahia Federal Constituency.
“We have it in good faith and due diligence that the good people of his constituency are impatiently waiting for him to publish his verifiable scorecard, constituency projects, appropriations, oversight functions and bills passed into law for the past three years of his membership in the green chamber of the Federal House of Assembly.
“We therefore challenge Hon. Obi Aguocha to publish all the over 22,000 purported jobs he claimed that he saved across Nigeria.
“Nigerians will be glad to see the evidence, names, video interviews, pictures, description of the jobs and phone numbers of the citizens he postulated to have saved to prevail”, the statement read.
