Tinubu May Lead the Country to War Path – Melaye Warns
Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has expressed concerns about Nigeria’s political future, warning that the country could face serious unrest if the electoral process is compromised ahead of future elections.

Speaking, Melaye alleged that President Bola Tinubu may attempt to manipulate the electoral process, a move he said would be met with strong resistance from Nigerians.
“My fear is very simple, that Tinubu may lead this country to a war path because he will try to rig, but there will be vehement resistance,” Melaye said.
He further stated that any attempt to undermine the will of the people could result in significant political consequences.
“At the end of the day, we may have a president who will run away because we are not backing down,” he added.
The former senator also criticised the president’s choice of official vehicle, claiming that previous Nigerian presidents used the Mercedes X-Class, while Tinubu opted for a more expensive armoured vehicle similar to that used by the President of the United States.
According to Melaye, the decision reflects misplaced priorities at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with economic hardship.
He also faulted the administration over energy policies, alleging that the government spent ₦17 billion on solar lighting projects in rural communities while millions of Nigerians continue to face inadequate electricity supply.
“Tinubu decided that Nigerians should remain in darkness while providing solar lights in the village at the whopping cost of ₦17 billion, to the detriment of Nigerians,” he said.
Melaye further argued that the president’s reported decision to rely on alternative power sources rather than the national electricity grid sends a negative message about the government’s confidence in the country’s power sector.
“When your president tells you that he is off the national grid, it shows that he has given up on power,” Melaye stated.
