APC Remains Abia’s Most Viable Political Force, Says Party Spokesman
The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed suggestions of internal disunity, insisting that the party remains firmly rooted across the state and well-positioned to win future elections.

Speaking with journalists at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia, the APC Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, said the party continues to enjoy widespread support at the grassroots despite recent disagreements arising from internal political activities.
According to Aguoru, the APC’s presence and acceptance across communities in Abia demonstrate that it remains a formidable political force capable of delivering strong electoral results.
He expressed confidence that the party’s organisational strength, active membership and growing support base would translate into victory if voters were called to the polls today.
The APC spokesman argued that differing opinions among members should not be mistaken for a crisis, noting that political parties naturally experience disagreements, particularly after competitive internal contests. He maintained that such developments are part of a healthy democratic culture and do not diminish the party’s unity.
Aguoru further stated that the APC’s commitment to internal democracy distinguishes it from many political organisations. He said party members are given opportunities to participate in decision-making processes and contest for positions without undue interference.
He emphasised that the APC encourages open engagement among its members and allows diverse perspectives to be heard, adding that this culture has strengthened confidence in the party’s leadership and structures.
The party spokesman also urged members to remain committed to the collective goals of the APC, stressing that unity, tolerance and active participation are essential to the party’s continued growth and success.
He expressed optimism about the future of the party in Abia State, saying efforts are ongoing to consolidate support, strengthen party structures and prepare for upcoming political contests.
