Opinion: Restoring Stewardship: Chinedum Orji For Real Results – Chimag
By Otunba Chimag

We, the people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency, speaking as members of the opposition and as the marginalised in Abia State whose needs have been ignored, demand a full and transparent account of stewardship from our current representative, Hon. Obi Aguocha.
Three years into his tenure, our communities still languish without basic infrastructure, functioning health centres, reliable schools or sustainable livelihood programs.
We will no longer accept personal attacks and venom directed at Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji (Ikuku Ọma Abia) or the Orji family as substitutes for answers. Grace shown to a public official does not forfeit the public’s right to results. We call on Hon. Obi Aguocha to publish a complete, verifiable stewardship report within 14 days detailing projects initiated and completed, funds received and expended (with receipts and beneficiary lists), motions and constituency interventions raised in the National Assembly, and a clear timeline for all outstanding commitments.
To the many who have never felt the touch of representation: ask yourselves and demand of the incumbent the questions that expose failure. Which roads in your ward were rehabilitated under his watch? Which primary health centres were equipped and staffed and how many patients were served? Where are the scholarships, vocational trainings and microcredit programs he promised, and who exactly benefited? Can he present documented evidence of constituency projects, procurement records and contractor details?
How did his legislative interventions translate into tangible improvements for our villages and markets? If he cannot answer these questions openly and with proof, then his rhetoric about rights and law rings hollow when set against the daily reality of potholes, closed clinics, shuttered schools and young people without prospects.
Because leadership must be measured by results, not by insults, we now put forward a clear alternative: Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji (Ikuku Ọma Abia). He is a tested leader with a record of public service and the vision to restore development to every ward. Rt. Hon. Orji offers specific, costed plans for road rehabilitation, health centre revitalisation, education support and youth employment schemes, to be implemented with quarterly public audits and participatory town-hall oversight. We pledge that his leadership will prioritise transparency, regular constituency reports and an open-door policy that turns complaints into action.
Since Hon. Obi Aguocha has refused to produce the stewardship evidence we demand or continues to divert public debate into personal attacks, we have resolved, mobilised and are waiting at the ballot box to replace him with Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, a representative who sees service as a duty, not a bargaining chip. The next election will not be decided by rhetoric but by results, and we shall vote for change.
