NDC: “FG Doing Everything to Stop my Candidacy in 2027 but They Won’t Win” – Obi
The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Mr Peter Obi, has alleged that the Federal Government is making every effort to prevent him from being on the ballot as a candidate in the 2027 general election, insisting that such efforts will ultimately fail.

Obi said this on Friday while speaking to students at Madonna University in Anambra State, just hours after the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja vacated its earlier judgment directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political party.
Addressing the audience, Obi said he had experienced significant political challenges but remained undeterred.
“Today, the Federal Government is doing everything possible to stop me from becoming a candidate in this 2027 election. I can tell you for a fact, they won’t win,” he said.
Reflecting on past obstacles, Obi recounted being questioned about whether he would proceed with an international trip despite the political climate in Nigeria.
“And everybody asked me, ‘Are you still going to go to Manila?’ And I said yes, I’m going there. They said, ‘What is happening in Nigeria?’ I said, ‘I’ve seen the worst of it.’”
Using his personal experience to encourage the students, Obi urged them not to be discouraged by life’s challenges but to remain focused on their goals.
“It’s not going to be easy. It will be difficult. But your determination, your commitment is what will get you there. Don’t look at the obstacles. The obstacles are always there. Look at your destination,” he said.
