The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and recovered ₦8.25 million paid as ransom for the release of a female victim abducted in Abuja.

The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) following intelligence-led investigations and sustained surveillance conducted after the victim regained her freedom.
According to the police, the operation led to the recovery of the full ₦8.25 million ransom allegedly collected by the suspects. Other items recovered during the operation include two vehicles, mobile phones, jewellery, a laptop, a cutlass, and other valuables suspected to be proceeds of criminal activities.

The FCT Police Command said the arrests underscore its commitment to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes within the Federal Capital Territory. Investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to identify and apprehend other members of the criminal network who may still be at large.
The Command reaffirmed its resolve to protect residents and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing security operations.
