Abia at 35: Chinedum Orji Celebrates State’s Heritage, Unity and Progress

Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has congratulated the people of Abia State on the 35th anniversary of the creation of the state.

Orji, in a goodwill message marking the anniversary on Thursday, said he joined Governor Alex Chioma Otti and Abians at home and in the diaspora to celebrate the milestone.

He described Abia as a state of enterprise, resilience, talent, culture and immense potential, noting that its people have continued to demonstrate the qualities that make the state unique.

“For 35 years, Abia has remained a land of enterprise, resilience, talent, culture, and immense potential. From our hardworking traders and entrepreneurs to our farmers, professionals, students, artisans, and public servants, the people of Abia have continued to demonstrate the strength and spirit that make our state special.”

According to him, traders, entrepreneurs, farmers, professionals, students, artisans and public servants across the state have contributed to Abia’s growth and development over the past 35 years.

Orji said the anniversary should also provide an opportunity for Abians to reflect on the state’s journey while renewing their collective commitment to building a better future.

He stressed the need for an Abia where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive, young people can look to the future with confidence, and good governance, development, peace and prosperity remain shared priorities.

The former Speaker expressed optimism that with unity of purpose, visionary leadership and the determination of the people, Abia could unlock its full potential and leave a stronger and more prosperous state for future generations.

He wished Abia State and its people a happy 35th anniversary, praying for God’s continued blessings upon the state.

“Long live Abia State! Long live the people of Abia!” Orji said.
