“We Must Produce Creators, Not Consumers” – Bourdex Unveils AI Blueprint for Abia North

The Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Abia North, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex) MFR, OON, has declared that human civilization has transitioned into the “Intelligence Century,” urging a total overhaul of the educational and economic strategies needed to prepare Abia North youths for global competition in Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and digital innovation.

Speaking during the latest broadcast of his popular radio program, BOURDEX HOUR, the telecommunications pioneer and industrialist explained that after the agricultural, industrial, and information ages, global economic power is now defined by critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability.

“We are living through one of the greatest transformations in human history,” Chief Bourdex emphasized. “Today, we are entering another stage—an age in which intelligence, creativity, innovation, and the ability to use knowledge effectively are becoming some of the world’s most valuable resources. That is what I call the Intelligence Century.”

Answering questions on how this technological shift directly impacts the people of Abia North, Chief Bourdex stressed that youth in the constituency must be equipped to build solutions rather than remain passive users of foreign technology.

“I want our children in Abia North to be more than consumers of technologies created elsewhere,” Bourdex asserted. “I want them to become creators—software developers, engineers, scientists, researchers, agricultural innovators, digital entrepreneurs, and artificial intelligence specialists. Talent is not determined by geography, and opportunity should not be limited by geography either.”

He noted that AI and automation will alter career paths, but insisted that proper preparation through digital literacy and technical infrastructure will open new frontiers for local youths to access international markets from home.

Addressing concerns regarding the gap between theoretical classroom learning and practical marketplace demands, the candidate advocated for a fundamental evolution in Nigeria’s educational framework.

He called for stronger partnerships between tertiary institutions, industry leaders, and tech hubs, alongside an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) balanced with moral character.

“Our educational system must continue to evolve because the world itself has changed,” Bourdex stated. “Education can no longer be concerned simply with how much information a student can remember. Today, information is available instantly. The more important question is: can you analyze it? Can you apply knowledge to solve a real problem?”

He urged parents, teachers, and policymakers to encourage lifelong learning, emphasizing that modern success requires continuous adaptation and technical competence matched with honesty and discipline.

“The future will not belong merely to those who possess certificates,” Bourdex concluded. “It will belong to those who combine knowledge with character, skills with creativity, and education with the capacity to adapt.”
