Breaking! PRO REF Admits Haaland’s Goal Should Have Been Disallowed
By Chris Ogbonnaya Uduma

Manchester United have been informed by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) that Erling Haaland’s goal in Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester City at Old Trafford should have been disallowed.
Following the incident in the 60th minute of the match, clarification has been provided regarding the decision to award Haaland’s goal.
The on-field decision was initially offside against Haaland before the incident was reviewed by VAR, which determined that the Manchester City striker was in an onside position.
However, according to the clarification, Enzo Fernández did not play the ball, making the assessment of any offence subjective. On this occasion, VAR failed to recognise the likely impact of Fernández’s position and should have recommended an on-field review.
“Contact has been made with Manchester United this evening to acknowledge what we deem is an error of judgement. A review of the incident will take place,” the statement said.
