An Okada rider named Marshall has committed suicide over the ban of Okada in Lagos State by the State Government led by Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu.

The death of the man was made known by a Twitter user who attributed his death to the ban of the Okada and the hopelessness that the late Okada rider felt in providing for his family.
The man wrote, “Hmn! What Governor @jidesanwoolu has created is already sowing disasters. An Okada rider just committed suicide. How can people create self-employment and a government destroy the same without concrete alternatives?

Recall that last week, the Governor of Lagos State, Jide Sanwo-Olu banned the use of Okada and Keke Napep in some areas in Lagos to curb the rising crime which they are used to do.
The Governor also released 65 fleets of BRT buses to help reduce the transportation issues that people were facing. Though many people have cried out that the buses are nowhere compared to the millions of population in Lagos and called for the reverse of the ban.
