COVID-19: Pastor Tunde Bakare Discloses When Churches will Open

During a meeting with the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his team, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has stated that the church will not open until later in the year.

Pastor Bakare stated that the government cannot shut a church but only a building.

The cleric noted that “government cannot shut the church, it can only shut a building”.

He said this while speaking at the second edition of the virtual 3Gz session of the CGCC Legacy Youth Fellowship.

It was also predicted that more cases are likely to be recorded in Nigeria especially if the churches are open.

When Bakare was asked when the church will reopen, the pastor admitted he was looking at September or the end of the year.

“We are not opening till the coast is clear,” he said.
