Imo CP inspects burnt, vandalized Police stations, reassures officers

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command (CP) Isaac Akinmoyede has paid an on-the-spot inspection visit to some of the police stations which were either burnt down or vandalized by hoodlums who hijacked the EndSARS protests in the state.

This development was made known through a press release made on behalf of the Commissioner by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Orlando.

Excerpts of the press release read as follows:

“Under the burning and the destruction of some Police stations in the state, by hoodlums who hijacked the ‘EndSars’ protest, the COMMISSIONER of POLICE Imo state, CP ISAAC O. AKINMOYEDE psc, FDC, MNIM took a visit to all the affected areas to evaluate the extent damage.

“The CP used the opportunity to meet with some of the community leaders and assured them that the Command is doing everything possible to return security in the affected areas as the Commands will never allow hoodlums and men of the underworld take over the communities.

“He further used the medium to meet with the Police officers of the Communities and admonish them not to lose hope as what happened was just a momentary setback, he then directed them to return to work as the government is seriously working on the welfare of the Police.

“Finally, he called for absolute professionalism on the part of officers and men of the Command”. The press release concluded.
