A former speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwoha who was also former chairman, Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), has heaped praises on Governor Hope Uzodimma for awarding contracts for the reconstruction of Owerri/Orlu and Owerri/Okigwe Road.

He said the two key roads when completed will go a long way in boosting economic, social and general life of Imo people, while the governor would have written his name permanently in the golden book of Imo state with the successful completion of the roads.

“Imo people have suffered quite a lot over the years, due to the bad state of these roads. It is quite amazing how these roads have remained in this state for so long, with previous governments not doing a comprehensive good job on them.

“It is refreshing to note that the construction has been awarded to a company with pedigree and of repute in durable road construction. This is a welcome development and a pleasant departure from the recent ugly past.

Nwoha advised the governor to also reconstruct the Owerri-Mbaise road when the current ones are completed.

“These roads will surely open up Imo state and make a bold statement that we are ready for business. Solid, durable roads construction that can stand the test of time is what Imo needs. I, therefore, commend the governor of Imo state for his good measure towards achieving this for the benefit of our dear state.
