Dangote Truck Stuck in Nmuri Bridge, Ohafia Chairman Calls for Urgent Intervention

A Dangote Truck carrying bags of cement have gotten stuck in Nmuri bridge on the early hours of Thursday.

This left road users stranded and motorist advised to take other alternate roads till the truck is removed from the bridge.

Reacting to the report, the Ohafia Local government Chairman, Dr. Okorafor Ukiwe called on the intervention of the Federal Government to reconstruct the bridge to avoid impending disaster.

According to report, the contractor mobilized to reconstruct Nmuri bridge by the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, was chased off the site by Setraco a couple of weeks ago.

It was gathered that Setraco has been awarded the contract of reconstructing Nmuri bridge by the Federal Government.

According to a Roland Akachukwu, the LGA boss has drawn the attention of the Honorable member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, Hon. Uko Nkole to the urgent need to ensure the contractors reportedly handling the Nmuri bridge contract begin work immediately.
