Justice Ariwoola Sworn in as Chief Justice of Nigeria

A Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has been sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

He was sworn in on Monday following the resignation of Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed over health challenge.

The oath of office was administered to Ariwoola at the council chamber of the presidential villa in Abuja.

Justice Mary Odili would have taken over from Justice Tanko but she retired in May 2022.
