One person has been injured following a heavy shooting currently ongoing as youths invade the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Monday.

It was gathered that the shooting was allegedly done by a security operative attached to Tonye Cole, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress at the INEC office.
This happened after the members of the All Progressive Congress and the Peoples’ Democratic Party clashed at the Commission’s office.
The members of the PDP are requesting the Certified True Copies (CTC) of used electoral materials for the party’s tribunal cases. They are insisting on jointly checking through the election materials with all opposing parties.
The protest has caused gridlock along the waterline junction axis of the PH-Aba express road.
Meanwhile, PDP members are demanding the arrest of Tonye Cole and the trigger-happy uniformed thug who shot the peaceful protester.
