The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a blogger named Sylvester Victor Augustus for cloning its official website and promoting a fraudulent recruitment scheme.

According to reports, Augustus, 32, from Akpan Eno Street in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was tracked down by DSS operatives and arrested at his residence on Thursday.
The suspect, a content creator and a graduate of the University of Uyo, allegedly created a counterfeit DSS website to deceive unsuspecting victims.

The DSS has promptly discredited the fake recruitment campaign, labelling it a scam, and has urged the public to ignore it.
A DSS source in Abuja confirmed on Friday morning that Augustus will soon face prosecution in court.
