ICPC Searches El-Rufai’s Residence Following Detention
Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) searched the residence of Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct during his tenure.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by Muyiwa Adekeye, media adviser to the former governor. Details of items recovered during the search were not immediately disclosed by the commission.
Ubong Akpan, one of El-Rufai’s lawyers, condemned the operation, describing it as “unlawful, and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights.”
He maintained that the search did not follow due process and vowed that the legal team would challenge the action.
The former governor is being investigated for alleged financial improprieties linked to projects executed during his administration in Kaduna State.
Meanwhile, El-Rufai has been in ICPC custody since Wednesday night following his earlier release on administrative bail from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which is also probing related allegations.
