‘Emulate God’s Love’ – Pastor Advises as Honourable Chukwudi Apugo Celebrates 50th Birthday in Style

Christians are encouraged to emulate God’s love for humanity and His commitment to the purpose of mankind. During a sermon on the theme of ‘love and generosity,’ Pastor Maduka Nwankwo of Blessed Chapel International Umuahia urged Christians to consistently acknowledge God and seek meaningful ways to reciprocate His love.

Preaching at the 50th birthday Thanksgiving celebration of Honourable Chukwudi Apugo at Blessed Chapel International, Umuahia, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, Pastor Nwankwo emphasised the importance of working diligently and giving generously to support God’s work on earth. He encouraged the celebrant to consider what he could give back to God in appreciation for the many blessings he has received.

In her address, Mrs. Chinyere Diala, the Principal of Danijoy International School in Umuahia, Abia State, applauded Honourable Chukwudi Apugo for his commitment to children and for providing the school with the resources needed to excel among other schools.

“Honourable Apugo has truly given us the best. His dedication should serve as a model for all. Our school, with two campuses, is well represented here today because we celebrate not only the golden birthday of its founder but also the birthday of a man whose passion for education has propelled the school to prominence,” she stated.

Speaking, Governor Alex Otti, the Executive Governor of Abia State, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, expressed gratitude for Honourable Apugo’s life, asserting that he is on a divine mission and that God chooses certain individuals for special purposes.

“When God selects a person, He sets them apart from others, much like the transformation Abia has experienced in just two years under Governor Alex Otti’s leadership,” said Pastor Ajagba.

Contributing, the Former Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, also recognised the celebrant’s significant achievements over the years, particularly the establishment of Danijoy International School.

“The next 50 years of your life will surpass all your previous accomplishments. Establishing Danijoy is one of your most impactful contributions. You may not yet fully understand the difference you have made in the lives of these children who are singing glory to you now, but you will see it later in life. I wish you many more fulfilling years ahead,” he remarked.

A highlight of the event was the cutting of the cake by the celebrant and his family, presentations featuring choreography and drama performed by the children of Danijoy International School, both in Umuahia and Uyo, Akwa Ibom State campus.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti (represented by Chief of Staff Pastor Caleb Ajagba), former Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, former Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Cosmos Ndukwe and his wife, Dr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, Barrister Okey Igwe, Dr. Chima Anyaso, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, PDP Chieftain Charles Ogbonna (Evuluogu Ibeku), Chief Henry Ikoh, past and former members of the Abia State House of Assembly, Clerk of the House Dr. Johnpedro Irokansi, Dr. Ike Onyenweaku, Okechukwu Dike, Barrister Ben Udechukwu, Bestman Eruba, and other prominent government officials both past and present, other dignitaries too numerous to mention.
