The women of Isiama Afaraukwu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State gathered on Monday at the family compound of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to offer fervent prayers for his unconditional release.

Kanu, who hails from the community and is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been in detention since 2021 following his repatriation from Kenya.

The women, comprising mothers, wives, and sisters from across the community, described their gathering as both a spiritual intervention and a cultural expression of concern for one of their own.
They prayed collectively for justice, divine intervention, and peace, calling on authorities to release Kanu without conditions.
