Nollywood actress Bukky Raji has publicly apologised to Nigerians for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 general elections, citing the growing economic hardship under his administration as a major source of regret.

Speaking on Oyinmomo podcast, Raji, known for her role in the movie Beyond Pardon, Mafisere and other exceptional movies, explained that her initial support for Tinubu was driven by hope, particularly the expectation that he would reopen the nation’s borders and ease the burden on ordinary citizens.
“My support for Tinubu was because I believed he would reopen the borders and make life easier for Nigerians,” she said. “But the level of hardship that has followed his administration is too much.”

Raji’s remarks reflect a broader sense of disillusionment among some Nigerians who had hoped for swift reforms and economic relief under the new government.
With the cost of living soaring, fuel prices, and inflation continuing to climb, frustration has been mounting across the country.
