Masked gunmen have abducted Justice Ebiyerin Omukoro, a High Court Judge and former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, in a brazen attack in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening around 7:00 p.m. outside a popular restaurant in the Ekeki area of the state capital.
Eyewitnesses reported that Justice Omukoro was with a relative when the armed men struck and forced him into a waiting vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The motive behind the abduction remains unclear, but the incident has sparked concern among residents and the legal community.
Bayelsa State Police spokesperson, Musa Mohammed, confirmed the abduction and said investigations are underway to secure the judge’s release and apprehend the perpetrators.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as efforts continue to rescue Justice Omukoro safely.
