Troops of 6 Brigade Raid Bandit Camp, Destroy Hideouts
Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have dismantled multiple bandit camps and recovered operational equipment following a major offensive against criminal elements in southern Taraba.

According to a statement released by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the intelligence-led operation was carried out on July 5, targeting a meeting allegedly convened by a notorious bandit kingpin, Liamdoo Douglas Adekpe, also known as “Bajor.” The offensive was focused on remote areas of Wukari Local Government Area, a known hotspot for bandit activity.
Troops reportedly stormed the hideouts, prompting the syndicate to flee, leaving behind several valuable items. Five operational motorcycles used for quick getaways and raids were recovered, and key infrastructure used by the criminals for planning and coordination was destroyed.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade and Sector 3 OPWS, stated that although Bajor and his associates narrowly escaped, military forces remain in pursuit and are monitoring their movements closely.
“The Nigerian Army remains fully committed to rooting out all criminal elements undermining the safety of citizens in Taraba State,” Brig. Gen. Uwa said, urging local residents to support military efforts by sharing timely and credible information.
He further assured the public that the 6 Brigade will continue deploying both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to restore lasting peace and stability across the region.
