Nigerians React to the Death of Former President Buhari
Nigerians have taken to social media to express their reactions to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who reportedly passed away in a hospital on Sunday.

Many comments reflect a general sentiment that the country’s decline began during his presidency.
X user @pndeyecare specifically criticised Buhari’s role in the exile of many young Nigerians who were striving for peace and development by actively reporting on issues affecting the nation.
“The only legacy this satanic man left was destroying Nigeria & crippling it’s economy.. @officialABAT you will be next! Your own days are very short!! Buhari orchestrated the following abominations:
– Ordered the killing of #EndSars protesters at Lekki toll gate
– pursued @DavidHundeyin from Nigeria
– pursued @MrFixNigeria from Nigeria
– pursued @Dj_Switchz from Nigeria
– Empowered Fulani herdsmen to destroy Nigerian farmers.”
@okestalyf wrote “People were relocating at 45 years for masters because of his idiotic rule and someone expects me to pray his soul to have PEACE?”
@unkleayo said “Buhari was the worst thing to happen to Nigeria b4 Bola.
He might have lived well but I hope he doesn’t rest in peace.
If the news about his death is true, the event is 4 years late.
He should have logged out in 2021 & let us enjoy at least 2 yrs of an Osinbajo Presidency.”
@oracleayo wrote “From one crisis to endsars, to near abolishment of federal character, to the emergence of BAT; Buhari won’t sleep well. May Allah judge him according to his deeds.”
@sheni_coker said ““Respect the dead”…lol.. if you don’t geddifok off my face. It won’t be well with you and your respect.”
@Elegbete1sports wrote “Person wey give una suffering pro max died, dem say make God rest his soul. Meanwhile, una dey pray fire and brimstone upon neighbors and family members to die every day. Rest ni soul ko. One million Naira na 5881 Dirham for Morocco o. Make una dey rest soul there.”
@maxvayshia wrote “Omo the hellish beating bros Muhammadu Buhari will receive in the afterlife ehn. The horror!
But wetin consign me? Unto the next. Na you sabi sir.”
@lollypeezle said “He wanted to become a president before he died at all cost. He achieved it, ruined the country, set us back by millions of miles. He knew he wasn’t capable.
Under his watch, people were massacred at the Toll Gate in Lekki. May Allah NOT forgive his shortcomings.”
@fisayosoyombo wrote “At the end of the day, late President Muhammadu Buhari will be largely remembered as that one Nigerian President who had every single ingredient to succeed in office — especially unprecedented public goodwill — but ultimately flattered to deceive, and eventually failed.
A president, for example, who hiked the pump price of petrol and the people gladly opted to endure rather than protest.
Such a shame how poverty, unemployment, inflation, insecurity and press freedom worsened under his watch, leading to the decimation of trust among even many of his own cult followers and the eventual shattering of what would have been an inerasable legacy.
A promise unfulfilled!”
@unkleayo wrote “The sins and legacy of Buhari.
