Security Guard Discovers Lifeless Body of Man Wrongly Accused of Stealing
The lifeless body of Dolapo Augustine Awolola was found inside a classroom at Iworoko Community High School in the Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State on July 15, 2025.

The discovery was made by the school security guard, Mr. Sunday Salami, who found Awolola lying face up, motionless, dressed in the white garment of the Celestial Church of Christ, with a gold-plated necklace around his neck. Once a man revered in faith, he was now broken by shame, betrayal, and despair.
In his pocket, along with a black purse and an Android phone, there was a suicide note, a heart-wrenching testament from a man overwhelmed by false accusations and societal rejection.
“I have nothing left. My family abandoned me. My church disowned me. They said I stole ₦3.8 million, something I know nothing about.”
In the note, Awolola stated that he was accused of stealing ₦3.8 million, an allegation he insisted was untrue. However, the weight of judgment, not just from strangers but also from those closest to him, his own family and church became unbearable.
“Even my own people refused to hear me. My church turned its back on me. I can’t survive this disgrace. I don’t want to continue in a world where my name is already destroyed” he wrote.
According to the preliminary assessment by police who arrived at the scene, there were no signs of physical violence on his body. The corpse was later taken to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The family of the deceased has been contacted, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances that led to his tragic death.
