Celebrating a Trailblazer: Otunba Olushola Senbanjo at 68
August 10 marks the symbolic birthday of Otunba Olushola Senbanjo, a man whose journey reflects resilience, leadership, and unwavering dedication to service.

Born in 1957 on Lagos Island, Otunba Senbanjo’s early foundation was laid at St. Peter’s Primary School, Ajele, and further strengthened at Isonyin Grammar School, Ijebu Ode, before completing his secondary education at Nigerian People’s High School, Ebute Metta, in 1977.
A pioneering youth leader and one of the foundation members of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), Otunba Senbanjo served his nation passionately during the Second Republic, guiding young minds between 1979 and 1983. Even after the disruption of democracy by a military regime, his commitment never wavered.
His entrepreneurial journey began in 1980 in the dynamic world of imports and exports. Following the political upheaval in 1983, he relocated to London where he upskilled in modern technology, studying computers at the Harvard Computer School, UK.
In 1987, ever drawn to service, Otunba Senbanjo contested for the Chairmanship of Lagos Island Local Government under the Zero Party platform during General Babangida’s era though the election was cancelled, it never deterred his patriotic spirit.
In 1993, Otunba, with a pro-democracy group under the aegis of the Committee of Awardees, urged Nigerians to stay at home on June 12, 1993, to commemorate the annulment of the presidential election, solidifying his stance against dictatorship and militarisation.
His influence spans politics, business, and humanitarian work. As the CEO of Mountbatten Properties Ventures, Club 9 D’or, Benetton International Company Limited, and founder of BOS Foundation, Otunba Senbanjo continues to make impactful contributions to real estate, enterprise, and philanthropy.
A tireless political mobilizer, he played pivotal roles in supporting the emergence of notable leaders including Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, and Hon. Kehinde Odeneye. He was also a Campaign Marshal for the IBB Vision 2007, a member of the NRC, and later joined UPN in 2015 under the leadership of the late Chief Dr. Frederick Fasehun.
Otunba Olushola Senbanjo is not just a leader; he is a builder of people, a believer in democracy, and a bridge between generations.
As he marks another glorious year today, we at Newsleverage salute his enduring spirit, vast contributions, and the indelible marks he has made on Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape.
Happy Birthday, Otunba!
May your legacy continue to inspire and your years be filled with good health, joy, and fulfilment.
