Chaos on Ibom Air Flight: Female Passenger Assaults Crew

Published

on

A routine flight turned chaotic on Sunday as a female passenger aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos caused a major disturbance upon arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The yet-to-be-identified woman reportedly assaulted an air hostess and clashed violently with airport security in an incident that has since gone viral on social media.

Video footage captured by bystanders shows the woman yelling and resisting as security officials attempted to calm the situation. She was eventually whisked away in an airport bus as stunned passengers and crew looked on.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has responded by reiterating the responsibilities of air travellers, reminding the public that airline passengers are bound by a code of conduct meant to ensure the safety and dignity of all on board.

This latest incident follows closely on the heels of another high-profile case involving Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, who was handed a six-month ban by ValueJet after a reported altercation with airline staff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The NCAA has not yet confirmed if the latest incident will result in sanctions or a flight ban for the passenger involved.
