Fellow Nigerians,

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has once again spoken truth to power, and we all must pay close attention. The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration continues to present itself as a government of “renewed hope,” yet the reality on the ground shows a trail of deception, inconsistency, and deliberate hardship on the masses.

How can we trust a government that projects revenues that simply do not exist? The recently presented 2025 budget has already exposed this administration’s insincerity. With a staggering ₦21.22 trillion shortfall between its projections and realistic revenue sources, it is clear that the numbers are cooked merely to confuse Nigerians and mask their inability to govern effectively. This is not just bad economics it is deception of the highest order.

To further compound the suffering of ordinary Nigerians, this same government has introduced a 5% petrol tax at a time when the removal of fuel subsidy has already crippled households and businesses. What this means is more hardship, higher transportation costs, skyrocketing prices of food and essential goods, and ultimately, deeper poverty for the masses. Instead of providing relief, this administration is piling burden upon burden on citizens who are already struggling to survive.

As if that is not enough, we are now faced with a 300% hike in passport fees. At a time when millions of Nigerians seek greener pastures abroad because of economic collapse at home, the government is shamelessly exploiting their desperation. This is not leadership it is extortion.

The ADC has consistently warned that the APC government thrives on falsehoods, empty promises, and anti-people policies. What we are witnessing today is a clear vindication. Nigerians must now rise and ask hard questions: Where is the transparency? Where is the accountability? Where is the empathy for the common man?

ADC stands firm with the people. We believe in a Nigeria where budgets are realistic, policies are humane, and leadership is guided by integrity and compassion not propaganda and deceit. This is why our call is clear: Nigerians deserve better than lies, inflated projections, punitive taxes, and exploitative policies.

We must reject deceit and demand a government that serves, not one that suffocates. Together, under the vision and values of the ADC, we can build a nation where truth prevails, where revenues are used for development not political games and where every Nigerian can live with dignity.

The time to stand for truth and justice is now. Let us rally behind ADC, a party that places people above politics, and rescue Nigeria from the chokehold of deception.
