Breaking! Abia Police Disbands Quick Intervention Unit (QIU)

The Abia State Police Command has announced the disbandment of the Quick Intervention Unit (QIU) due to issues of unprofessional misconduct.

In a statement released on Tuesday by DSP Maureen Chinaka, Commissioner of Police for Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, introduced a new tactical unit called the Strike Force. This unit will be commanded by DSP Eze Augustine Eke and will serve as an Intervention Team aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

The Strike Force is comprised of well-trained, disciplined, and combat-ready officers who will be strategically deployed to combat crime in the state.

The Commissioner of Police also instructed the newly formed team to maintain professionalism, remain disciplined, and ensure strict compliance with the rule of law while carrying out their duties.

CP Danladi reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to upholding professionalism in fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities of the police force, in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
