Governor Otti Increases NYSC Allowance by 1,150%
Governor Alex Otti, OFR, has approved a massive 1,150% increase in the monthly allowance of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state from ₦4,000 to as much as ₦50,000.

Report by the Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku, revealed that under the new structure, all Corps Members posted to Abia will now receive a base monthly allowance of ₦20,000 from the State Government, in addition to the ₦77,000 allowance recently approved by the Federal Government.
Corps Members serving in state government establishments will receive an additional ₦10,000, while those in teaching and medical roles will get ₦30,000 extra as a motivation package.
Meanwhile, the Governor is also renovating the NYSC Orientation Camp in Bende Local Government Area.
He emphasised that while the NYSC camp remains a Federal Government facility, its maintenance directly benefits Abia residents. “Every institution within our state deserves attention, whether it is owned by the federal or state government,” he said, reiterating his administration’s vision of shared prosperity.
