Ogah Pays New Year Homage to Otti, Calls for Continuity
Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, CON, Doyen of the Abia Rejoice Movement, has paid a New Year homage to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, commending his leadership style and calling for continuity to consolidate the gains recorded by the current administration.

Dr Ogah made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking with journalists shortly after a closed-door New Year’s courtesy visit to Governor Otti at his country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.
Describing the New Year as a period for reflection, renewed hope, and strategic recommitment, Dr Ogah said Abia State is at a critical point in its journey toward rebuilding and sustainable development. He noted that Governor Otti’s administration has, within a short period, demonstrated clarity of vision and uncommon political will in tackling the state’s long-standing structural and institutional challenges.
According to him, the strides recorded in governance reforms, infrastructural renewal, fiscal discipline, and the restoration of public confidence are clear indications that Abia State is steadily reclaiming its path to progress.
He stressed, however, that these achievements represent the foundation of a broader transformation agenda that requires time, consistency, and continuity to fully mature.
Dr Ogah therefore called on Ndi Abia, political stakeholders, and well-meaning citizens to rally behind Governor Otti in support of a second term, emphasising that continuity is critical to consolidating the progress achieved so far. He warned that interrupting a reform process at its formative stage often undermines long-term outcomes, while sustained leadership allows policies and institutions to deliver lasting impact.
In the same vein, Dr Ogah pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending what he described as the President’s audacious reform programmes aimed at repositioning Nigeria for growth and stability.
He explained that the call for continuity at both state and national levels is not driven by partisan interests, but by a genuine desire to safeguard the emerging culture of responsible governance and ensure that Abia State and Nigeria successfully transition from recovery to enduring growth and prosperity.
As the New Year unfolds, Dr. Ogah urged Abians and Nigerians to embrace unity, constructive engagement, and shared responsibility, noting that the task of rebuilding the state and the nation transcends individual ambition.
He wished Governor Otti continued strength and wisdom in steering the affairs of Abia State, expressing optimism that with sustained support and continuity in leadership, the state will record even greater milestones in the years ahead.
