Tinubu Pledges Delivery of Seven Phases of Mechanisation, Vows to Defeat Terrorism

The President gave the assurance on Monday while declaring open the National Economic Council (NEC), where he reaffirmed his commitment to tackling insecurity, describing it as an unacceptable challenge and an economic embarrassment to the country.

“There are seven phases of mechanisation that are coming, and I promise Nigerians that it will be delivered,” Tinubu said.

Addressing security concerns, the President disclosed that he would continue engagements aimed at empowering security agencies to decisively confront criminal activities across the country.

“I am leaving here again to further find means to strengthen our security forces to defeat terrorism. That is what has kept all of us sleepless at night, but I assure you we will win with determination and resilience,” he stated.

President Tinubu emphasised that terrorism and banditry are alien to Nigeria’s values and culture, noting that the nation must overcome the threats to protect its unity and economic stability.

“We will overcome this unacceptable terrorism and banditry. It’s not part of our culture; it’s foreign to us. It is an economic embarrassment if we do not find a solution to it,” he added.

The President also commended state governors for their efforts in improving security in their respective regions, particularly praising the governors of Borno, Kaduna, and Katsina states.

“I commend all of you, particularly the governors of Borno, Katsina, Kaduna State, and many others who have done so much to defend our liberty, unity, and our commonwealth,” Tinubu said.
