‘APC Ole’ – Minority Caucus Shouts, Walks Out as Reps Adopt Clause 60(3) on Transmission of Results
Drama unfolded in the House of Representatives on Tuesday as members of the Minority Caucus staged a walkout, chanting “APC ole,” after the green chamber adopted Clause 60(3) of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

The protest erupted after the House voted to adopt Clause 60(3), which provides for both real-time electronic transmission and manual transmission of election results.
The clause states that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may transmit election results electronically in real time where practicable, while also recognising manual transmission of results as a valid alternative.
Shortly after the adoption of the clause, several minority lawmakers rose in protest, accusing the majority of attempting to manipulate the legislative process.
The aggrieved members subsequently walked out of the green chamber, chanting “APC ole” in open defiance.
