Heads of Tertiary Institutions Fix Minimum Admission Scores for 2026 Admissions
The Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria have unanimously agreed on the minimum admissible scores for candidates seeking admission into higher institutions across the country.

According to the resolution reached at a Policy meeting on Monday, candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities must score a minimum of 150, while applicants into Colleges of Nursing are also required to attain at least 150.
For admission into polytechnics, the minimum admissible score was set at 100.
It mentioned that the age requirement for entry into Nigerian Tertiary Institutions remains 16.
Candidates seeking admission into Education Programmes and Agriculture non-Engineering Courses are now exempted from the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
