The family of popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has confirmed his passing following a prolonged battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer. He was 40 years old.

In a statement released by the family on Wednesday, they described the actor as “a loving son, brother, and friend whose strength and courage remained unwavering throughout his illness.”

According to close family sources, Ekubo had been receiving treatment for complications related to kidney cancer in recent months before his condition reportedly worsened.

The family expressed gratitude for the support, prayers, and love shown during his illness and asked for privacy as they mourned his passing.

They revealed that funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
