Investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo has disclosed that the authorities of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University are trying to force the final year medical students back to school.

According to the memo received, they are trying to do it secretly and so told them that the school hostel will not be opened but they should look for alternative accommodation.
He further asked how students who has to fly down from different States expected to resume too and why the hurry for the school to reopen?
Read here, “For whatever reason, authorities of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly Anambra State University) are trying to force final-year students of the College of Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Medicine, to secretly resume school.
The attached circular bears the details
The students were told that the medical students hostel will be closed, hence they’d have to find themselves temporary accommodation outside town as they prepare for their mock and final exams.
This move violates the instructions of both the state and federal government on closure of schools in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.’
‘Of more importance, how do the authorities expect students living outside Anambra to make it to Awka considering the interstate lockdown?
And the ones who’d rather fly but can’t transform into witches and wizards overnight, how will they navigate the shutdown of the nation’s airspace?
Can the VC, Prof Greg Nwakoby and the Dean College of Medicine, Prof Emeka Ojiyi, kindly explain what the hurry is all about?”
Recall that Fisayo has gone undercover many times to find out what happens in psychiatric hospitals, spent days in police cells and so many other news which has taken the front line in the country.
