Police Arrest Girlfriends Who Staged Kidnap

Police operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos State have arrested two girls, 22-year-old Precious Chukwu and 18-year-old Ujunwa Offiah for conspiring with 26-year-old Ifesinachi Blessed to stage a kidnap case.

It was gathered that Ifesinachi, kept Ujunwa at a place and placed calls across to her family that she had been kidnapped. He pretended as a kidnapper and demanded for a ransom of N30 million.

They eventually negotiated, with the help of his other girlfriend, Precious Chukwu, and agreed to pay him N700,000 before he “released” Ujunwa.

According to the State’s PPRO, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the duo are girlfriends to the mastermind, Ifesinachi, who is a driver with one of the cab-hailing services but presently at large.

The police swung into action and investigations revealed that it was a staged kidnap. The suspects were immediately arrested except for Ifesinachi who is currently on the run.
