Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has weighed in on the sit-at-home order given by the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, in the South East from 17 to 19th January, 2022, stating that it was a legitimate protest against injustices and violation of rights but has economic consequences.

Speaking through his official Twitter page on Tuesday, Sani disclosed that every noble cause comes with consequences and so should be thought through before embarking on it.

“The sit at home form of protest is a peaceful and legitimate means of registering objections to injustices or rights violations; It comes with economic consequences, but all noble causes come with consequences.”
The IPOB ordered sit at home in commemoration of the court trial of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Federal High Court in Abuja on the 17th, 18th and 19th January.
Many traders have also slammed the sit-at-home order reflecting on how it’s crumbling the economic activities of the entire region and warning against further action.
Meanwhile, gunmen enforcing the order were seen shooting, burning and stealing vehicles, destroying goods in Ezeiweka in Onitsha, Enugwu-Ukwu and Anambra State on Tuesday.
